Participants

Private landowners, municipalities and their consortia may apply for financing. 

Objectives 

Measure 8.2 aims at recovering, for productive and environmental purposes, the areas abandoned at the time of the request, but already used for agricultural and pastoral activities in the process of colonization by sporadic natural forest vegetation.

The support also intends to achieve: 

• linear plantations (hedges, trees, woodlands and windbreaks);
• planting of one or more species of native arboreal and shrubby plants with a medium-long cycle, of forest and/or agro-forestry interest, cultivated in a sparse order or with regular, low-density planting patterns for the creation of “agro-forestry systems"; in which forest arboriculture is associated with agriculture on the same short area.

Selection principles

Submeasure 8.2 shall be assessed on the basis of macro-criteria, a minimum permissible score of 12 points and a maximum permissible score of up to 100 points, as defined below:

• territorial areas, specifically for the location of the intervention, the maximum score achievable is 84 points;
• types of operations activated, specifically by type of intervention, the maximum score is 16 points. 

In this case, the beneficiaries do not foresee any relevance in the attribution of the score: projects with smaller investments will be financed on an equal footing.

Eligible expenditure

The financing covers the costs incurred for: 

• establishment and propagation material costs; 
• the purchase of plant, arboreal and shrub material, accompanied by certification of phytosanitary origin; 
• costs of planting operations necessary for planting the plants; 
• costs for operations related to the plant. 

In addition, each year for 5 years, for each hectare, to cover the costs of maintenance will be paid a premium to cover the costs of: 

• pruning, cutting, brush cutting, etc. 

From the second year they will also be eligible expenditure: 

• all other cultivation operations necessary to ensure the permanence of the planting in terms of quality and quantity;
• actions for the prevention and protection of the plant. 

Scope of financing 

The funding provided will be: 

• 80% for plant and propagating material;
• equal to 100% for the annual premium.
